Kindle Fire PPTP & L2TP setup
Drop down the status bar so the setting icons are displayed.
Tap "Wireless"
In the wireless settings, tap "VPN".
Tap "Add a VPN Profile".
For PPTP, use the following settings:
Name: This is the descriptive name of the connection, whatever you want to call it.
Type: Select PPTP
Server address: use the URL or IP address of the VPN server provided by your VPN provider.
PPP encryption (MPPE): Must be checked.
Tap "Save".
For L2TP, use the following settings:
Name: This is the descriptive name of the connection, whatever you want to call it.
Type: L2TP/IPSec PSK
Server address: use the URL or IP address of the VPN server provided by your VPN provider.
L2TP secret: leave blank
IPSec identifier: leave blank
IPSec pre-shared key: use the key from your VPN provider
Tap "Save".
To connect: In the VPN menu (the sub-menu of "Wireless") you will see the VPN connection that you've just created. Tap it.
When the connection process begins, you will be asked for your login credentials.
Enter your User name and Password
Check "Save account information" to save for future use.
Once connected you will see the status "Connected" right below under the connection name
